Flooring is one of the first things anyone notices when they walk into a room and one of the last things homeowners want to replace twice. A floor that gets installed correctly on a properly prepared subfloor with the right adhesive system and the right transition details will last decades. A floor that gets rushed onto a compromised subfloor with an inadequate moisture barrier will buckle, cup, crack, or separate within a few seasons, and you'll be facing the full cost of replacement plus the subfloor repair that should have happened the first time.
Irving homeowners trust Build Strong Construction and Remodeling to install flooring that works with the rest of their home, handles the foot traffic, pet activity, moisture exposure, and Texas temperature swings their specific rooms see, and holds up long enough to justify the investment. We handle every flooring type from hardwood installation and refinishing to full tile installation with heated floor rough-in, across every room in the house, including the subfloor preparation that most contractors either skip or underestimate.
Every flooring installation includes the correct substrate assessment, moisture testing, and subfloor preparation so the material above it is installed on a foundation that won't fail.
Written estimates before work begins with a clear breakdown of material, subfloor preparation, installation, and transition work. No hidden charges for prep work discovered after the job starts.
We sequence flooring installation correctly within your project timeline so new floors go in after every other trade is done and before the finish work that could scratch them.
We handle the full flooring scope in your Irving home, from the subfloor assessment and repair phase through the finished installation and the transition details between rooms. You’re not left coordinating a subfloor contractor, a tile setter, and a hardwood installer who each have different schedules and different standards. One team assesses the substrate, handles the prep, and installs the finished material so everything is consistent and everything is accountable to the same project manager.
Flooring installation is a trade where the visible result depends almost entirely on work that’s no longer visible once the project is done: the flatness of the subfloor, the moisture content of the wood, the quality of the adhesive bond, the correctness of the acclimation period, and the precision of the layout from the center of the room outward. We do that invisible work correctly because it’s the difference between a floor that looks and feels right for twenty years and one that starts showing problems in the first couple of seasons.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with David Rubin and his team on my backyard project. From the very beginning to the completion of my back porch and beautiful gazebo area, David was there every step of the way. I had several contractors come out and give me estimates, but David immediately stood out. He was personable, honest, trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely interested in understanding exactly what I wanted. As a single woman who had never taken on a project like this before, I honestly had no idea where to start. David made the entire process comfortable and stress-free. I never felt pressured or taken advantage of. David worked with me on financing to make the project affordable while still giving me what I wanted. He went above and beyond what I expected. He even provided a shower door at no additional cost and moved and stained my fence without charging me extra. While I was at work, David and his crew handled everything—from picking up supplies to coordinating the work and making sure everything was taken care of. Whenever I had a concern, an idea, or something I felt needed to be corrected, David listened and took care of it right away. He would call and check in regularly to make sure I was happy and that everything was progressing the way it should. What impressed me most was that David treated my project as if it were his own. He didn’t just want to finish the job—he wanted me to be happy with the result. And the best part is that even after the project was completed, David has continued to be helpful. He has offered to connect me with people who can help with other things around my home, such as putting furniture together, installing ceiling fans, and other handyman projects. I truly feel like I gained a friend, not just a contractor. My backyard turned out beautiful, and I am extremely happy with the quality of the work and, most importantly, with how I was treated throughout the entire process. If you are looking for someone who is honest, dependable, caring, and truly stands behind his work, I highly recommend David Rubin and his team. You will not regret choosing them! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Posted on Google![]()

The Build Strong team actually completed two projects - one to repair water damage to my retaining wall and a second to refurbish a very old pool deck that wasn't really safe to walk on. The retaining wall repair included a new French drain to relieve water pressure after rainfall and the work was completed quickly. A more challenging project followed that involved removing all of the sandstone slabs around our pool and resetting them so that they were graded correctly for runoff and to improve the overall look and safety of the entire pool. A new French drain was also installed. The work was well done and has turned an unsafe eyesore back into a nice looking finish. The first image is the upgraded pool prior to power washing and the second is the original look. We were very satisfied with both projects.Posted on Google![]()

Daniel, David, and the entire team did an outstanding job on my landscaping project—professional, thoughtful, dependable, and attentive to every detail from start to finish. The finished landscape is absolutely beautiful, and I’m so grateful for the care, craftsmanship, and pride they brought to my home.
Luxury Full Home remodeling covers more than one job. Here's how we break down the work so every part of your project gets the right level of attention.
Flooring installation covers more than laying material. Here's how we break down the work so every surface gets the correct preparation, the correct installation method, and the correct finishing details.
Hardwood flooring in an Irving home has to contend with a climate that swings between high-humidity spring and fall seasons and low-humidity, high-heat summer conditions. That seasonal humidity variation causes wood to expand and contract, and the installation has to accommodate that movement through correct fastener schedule, correct adhesive type, and correct acclimation before installation — not through gaps that open up at plank ends because the wood wasn't allowed to stabilize in the room's conditions before being fastened in place.
We handle new hardwood installation in both nail-down and glue-down applications for solid and engineered wood, specifying the installation method based on the subfloor type and the room's moisture environment. We also handle full refinishing of existing hardwood that has surface wear but no structural damage, including drum sanding, edge work, stain matching to adjacent floors, and application of a durable top coat that protects the surface for years of daily use.
Luxury vinyl plank is the most practical flooring material for most rooms in an Irving home today: 100% waterproof through the core, installable over most existing subfloors without adhesive removal or full subfloor replacement, available in designs that convincingly reproduce wide-plank hardwood at a lower total cost, and maintenance requirements that consist of sweeping and occasional mopping rather than periodic refinishing. The performance difference between LVP price points is significant and worth understanding before specification. Wear layer thickness, core density, and attached pad quality vary significantly across the LVP price range, and those specifications determine how the floor holds up to pet nails, furniture movement, and the daily scuffing of a busy household. We specify LVP for Irving rooms based on the room's actual traffic level and moisture exposure rather than defaulting to the lowest-cost option that technically qualifies for the application, because the floor that needs replacing in five years costs more than the one that lasts twenty.
Tile installation failures — cracked grout joints, loose tiles, and tile that sounds hollow when tapped — almost always trace back to substrate problems rather than tile or grout failures. A tile installed over a substrate that flexes under foot traffic will crack its grout joints. A tile installed without the correct waterproofing membrane in a wet area will eventually allow water behind the assembly where it causes damage that's invisible until it's serious. We assess and prepare the substrate correctly for every tile installation in Irving, installing the correct backer board and waterproofing membrane system for each room's specific use and moisture conditions.
Layout, grout joint size, and grout type are planned before any adhesive is opened. Natural stone tile receives the sealer appropriate to its specific porosity. Large-format porcelain tile is back-buttered to ensure full adhesive coverage that eliminates the hollow spots that become crack origins. Every tile installation we complete in Irving is grouted, sealed, and cleaned before we call it done.
The subfloor is the most critical component in any flooring installation and the one that most homeowners never think about until a problem in the finished floor traces back to it. Squeaking subfloor panels, soft spots from old moisture damage, high spots where joists have moved, and low areas where panels have sagged all affect every finish flooring material installed above them — they just manifest differently depending on the material. LVP develops joint separation. Tile develops cracked grout. Hardwood develops squeaks and cupping at specific locations. In every case, the visible failure is in the finish material but the actual cause is in the substrate below.
We assess the subfloor condition before any finish flooring material is specified or ordered for your Irving home, price every repair clearly in the project estimate so nothing comes as a change order surprise when the old floor comes up, and execute every repair to the flatness and structural tolerance required by the finish material. The extra time spent on correct subfloor preparation produces floors that perform correctly for years rather than ones that start showing problems in the first season after installation.
